10 DAYS TANZANIA SAFARI

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Gateway to Tanzania’s Wonders

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy a relaxing evening after your flight, or if time permits, take a short tour of the town to immerse yourself in the local culture. Prepare for your exciting safari journey.

Day 2: Arusha National Park – Walking Safaris and Scenic Views

Begin your adventure with a visit to Arusha National Park, a small but beautiful reserve offering diverse landscapes, from forest to lakes to savannah. Take a guided walking safari (accompanied by armed rangers) to learn about the smaller details of the ecosystem, or enjoy a canoe safari on Momella Lakes, where you can spot flamingos and water buffalo. You’ll also get great views of Mt. Meru. Overnight in Arusha.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Giants of the Savanna

Travel from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and stunning baobab trees. Enjoy a full day of game drives, where you’ll spot a variety of wildlife including lions, giraffes, zebras, and abundant birdlife. Tarangire is a fantastic place to witness wildlife up close, especially in the dry season when animals congregate around the river. Overnight at a lodge or tented camp near the park.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park – Tree-Climbing Lions and Birdwatching

Today, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its unique tree-climbing lions and large populations of elephants and flamingos. The park’s diverse ecosystem—ranging from lush forest to open plains and the soda lake—offers excellent wildlife viewing and birdwatching opportunities. After your game drive, head to Karatu, near the Ngorongoro Highlands, for the evening.

Day 5: Maasai Cultural Experience – Explore the Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast, take a fascinating trip to a Maasai village. Here, you’ll be welcomed by the Maasai people, learning about their vibrant culture, their customs, dances, and their age-old relationship with the land and wildlife. The Maasai are semi-nomadic herders and provide an authentic cultural experience. After the visit, head to your lodge perched on the Ngorongoro Crater rim, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – The Garden of Eden

Today, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations. The crater floor is home to diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and cheetahs. The area is also known for its stunning landscape, a mix of open grasslands, forests, and swamps. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before returning to your lodge for the night.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park – The Endless Plains

After breakfast, head towards the world-famous Serengeti National Park. You’ll travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and enjoy wildlife sightings along the way. On arrival in Central Serengeti (Seronera), embark on an afternoon game drive where you’ll have the chance to witness the great predators of the Serengeti—lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Overnight in a lodge or tented camp in the heart of the Serengeti.

Day 8: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti – The Great Migration (Seasonal)

Spend the day in the Serengeti on a full-day safari, exploring both the central plains and the surrounding areas. If visiting during the migration months (May–October), you may witness the incredible Great Migration, with over 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras moving across the savannah in search of fresh grazing. The Serengeti is also home to large predator populations, so you’ll have opportunities to observe lions hunting or cheetahs in action. Return to your camp for a restful evening.

Day 9: Hadzabe Tribe – A Day with Tanzania’s Hunter-Gatherers

On day 9, travel to Lake Eyasi to meet the Hadzabe people, one of the last true hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. Spend the day learning about their traditional lifestyle, which has remained largely unchanged for thousands of years. Join them in the morning for a hunting expedition, using bows and arrows, and learn how they live off the land, using medicinal plants and natural resources. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a meal prepared the Hadzabe way. Return to your lodge for the night.

Day 10: Return to Arusha – Farewell to Tanzania

After a final breakfast, depart Lake Eyasi and head back to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, you can stop for shopping at the Cultural Heritage Centre or relax in Arusha before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
